In order to support the presentation of good quality applications, some Challenge Funds organise workshops and seminars for applicants to ensure that the programme criteria and processes to track change and measure impact are understood. This is particularly important for programmes targeting organisations with limited experience of Challenge Fund processes and technical requirements.
Triple Line has developed this workshop format for several Funds and the key lesson is that one-to-one support to grantees in developing their logical frameworks, results chains and monitoring plans contributes to more effective achievement of the Fund’s objectives.
For on-going grants, workshops on project management, and in particular monitoring, evaluation and lesson-learning not only contribute to the quality of the individual projects but also provide a valuable opportunity for grant-holders to learn from each other.
