Post-conflict programming

Post-conflict programming is a diverse area of work. Working on the design and implementation of  development programmes in a post-conflict environment,  this may take the form of a multi-sectoral approach or a focus on a specific sector which needs to be supported to sustain peace and stability once a conflict has ended.

These areas typically include:

  • security sector reform;
  • support to the justice sector and human rights initiatives;
  • strengthening the role of civil society;
  • support to governance and transparency initiatives, and
  • encouraging peace and reconciliation.

Triple Line  has provided advice to government institutions and civil society organisations in a number of post-conflict environments including developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, conducting baseline studies for livelihoods programmes, assessing economic sector support to poverty reduction and reviews of peace building funds. Recent contracts include post-conflict programming in Sierra Leone and the Balkans and a review of the peace building fund in Sudan and of civil society peace building projects in Burundi (for DFID).
