Head - Grant and Fund Management
Martin has over 15 years of grant programme management experience with DFID, EU, Big Lottery Fund and Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD). He has experience of direct project implementation and management in the fields of upland and irrigated agriculture and water and sanitation; and experience of managing grants covering a range of development sectors including education, health, post-conflict and post-disaster recovery, natural resource management and rights-based approaches.
Martin has extensive experience of project cycle management and has undertaken numerous project monitoring and evaluation assignments. He managed the DFID contract for the Development Awareness Fund (DAF) from 2008 to 2009, and the Civil Society Challenge Fund (CSCF) in 2010, and was Grant Programme Manager and Team Leader for DFID's Global Poverty Action Fund (GPAF) for 5 years until the end of the contract in December 2015. In July 2015, Martin supported the Katalyst (Swisscontact) team in Dhaka to review their use of the enterprise challenge fund model to support the development of pro-poor inclusive business. He has recently taken on the newly-defined position of Head of the Grant and Fund Management across IPE Triple Line and IPE Global.
Martin's educational qualifications include an MSc in Tropical Agriculture from Wye College, University of London, and an HND in Agriculture from the Welsh Agricultural College, UK. Martin has country experience in:
