Fund manager development awareness fund (DAF)

Client: DFID
Country: UK
Year: 2006 – 2012

The £4 million per year Fund supports NGOs and the education sector in the UK  with the aim of building long term knowledge and understanding of the major challenges and prospects for development.  The projects should generate an  understanding of our global interdependence and  the role that individuals can play in reducing poverty.

The DAF therefore has therefore touched on other issues including social inclusion in the UK, understanding of conflict prevention as well as a better understanding of how individuals can contribute to poverty reduction. The fund closed for new projects in 2010 and Triple Line is managing the  portfolio of grants.

Services Provided

Triple Line appraised concept notes and proposals  and following provisional awards our responsibilities included: organisational capacity assessments; setting-up grants; processing grant claims and reviewing progress through appraisal of annual reports and project completion reports.

Over time DFID  transferred more responsibility and outsourcing of functions  to Triple Line and new systems have been introduced. Our engagement in both the proposal appraisal and grant management phases ensures a continuity of information and risk management.
