Triple Line has provided support to the implementation of the DFID-funded International Growth Centre (IGC). The IGC promotes sustainable growth in developing countries by providing demand-led policy advice based on frontier research. The IGC is directed and organised from hubs at the London School of Economics and Oxford, and comprises country offices across the developing world. The IGC was initiated and funded by DFID.
The IGC aims at bridging the gap between research into economic growth and Government policy. It provides policy oriented research across 15 countries with Country Programmes and thematic research projects.
Services Provided
Triple Line has provided advice to improve the effectiveness of the organisation including:
- A review of organisational structure and internal governance procedures;
- A diagnosis of human resource issues,and
- A review of procurement policy.
Triple Line has also facilitated workshops and retreats for the IGC.
Achievements
The IGC implemented a number of changes as a result of Triple Line support including:
- Revised organizational structure of the IGC with greater focus on the IGC strategy being led from the country programmes and greater strengthening of the links between the country programmes and the research priorities.
- Revised project management processes with more outsourcing of procurement.
- Improved job descriptions and reporting.
- Substantial increase in project activities and expansion of the programme.
