Triple Line has been involved in conducting the Annual Review of the EEP programme (Economic Empowerment of the Extreme Poor) known as Shiree which is a five year £65 million programme with the aim of graduating 1 million people out of extreme poverty.  This Challenge Fund operates a scale fund and an innovation fund and is engaged in a range of different models of income generating activities and empowerment

Services Provided

As part of the second annual review, the Triple Line led team recommended some significant changes in the approach to managing the Challenge Fund and also the engagement processes with civil society.

Triple Line was engaged by the Harewelle Consortium in July 2010 to review the progress made in relation to the recommendations made and support the CEO to develop a management and organisation plan that adequately addresses the annual review findings.

Achievements

  • A very significant turnaround in the performance of the project was achieved by the Shiree management and its status changed from a poorly performing project to a high performing one.
  • Triple Line recommendations have supported this turn around process and new approaches to working with the challenge fund grantees have been successful and a culture of lesson learning and partnership has developed.
